American scientists made unexpected findings. Such popular youth series, as «Sex and the City», may significantly affect number of teenage pregnancies.
A study involving more than 2,000 girls aged 12-17 years was arranged. Scientists conducted the first survey of teenagers in 2001. Then they became aware of almost 100 cases of pregnant girls.
Recently, a second poll was arranged, and it turned out that number of teenage pregnancies doubled. Further questioning revealed that majority of pregnant girls enjoyed watching youth films and television serials.
A serial «Sex and the City», which focuses on sexual life of heroes, is especially popular among young girls. Same priorities are placed in other youth series. This is a decisive factor that influenced increased number of teenage pregnancies.
