Scientists came to such conclusion after they
investigated 1042 children born in 1991 up to 12 years old. They determined
height and weight for all children in the age of 2, 3, 4,5, 7, 9, 11 and 12
years; and calculated body-weight index.

After they analysed received data, researchers
discovered, that children, who had overweight in 2-7 years, suffered from
overweight in growing age 5 times more often, than their slenderer coevals.
Scientists also found out that 60% of children, who ever had overweight (from
2
to 7 years), suffered from overweight by 12 years too.

At the same time, according to previous researches,
weight of a child in growing age is an important indicator of his weight in
future.

The research`s data accentuate the necessity to
support healthy weight, starting from early children age. Contrary to a popular
opinion, small children with overweight or obesity don`t lose excess kilograms
with age.

By the moment of ending of the research, more than 30%
of children in the age of 12 years had overweight, what exceeds a previous
generation`s analogous index approximately three times more, as scientists
note.
