Most often we organize nursery with special love: we want our child to feel very
comfortable in it. And sometimes we forget that a nursery - is one of most multi-functional
rooms in a house. Our offspring not only sleeps and plays there, but also studies.
It`s especially important to keep a usual interior in his room, adding some elements
of “adult” life in it, when he`s going to become a first-former. We should make
it very carefully, without breaking usual harmony. For a start, let`s see whether
a nursery is arranged the right way.

The most successful arrangement is east or south-east. In this case in the morning a room will be filled up with sunlight, which affects
a child`s nervous system positively and makes early awakening not so painful.
Nursery`s interior plays an important role in development of skills and talents,
formation of personality. Take care that a child feels as a competent owner of
a room, reaching various shelves and cupboards withiut adults` help.

They usually pick out three zones in a nursery - educational, playing and rest
zone
. You shouldn`t delimit playing and working spaces sharply, otherwise you can
cause dislike for study in a child. Let education become an element of a game
firstly.

When you proceed to arrangement of a room, it`s necessary to consider a child`s
age, his hobbies, and also functional zones it will include (rest, sleep, study).
Choice of furniture and its arrangement depend on it. Of course, a schoolchild
will need a well-organized space for studies.

When you choose a writing-table, pay attention to tables-transformers, in which
you can change height and angle of tilt of a table. Furniture should correspond
to a child`s sizes. Height of table should be sligthly higher, than a child`s
elbow (when he stands near), and a table itself should be spacious and steady.

You can solve a question of height adjustment also with help of an office chair
or arm-chair with adjustable chair-bottom. A chair with high and elastic back
is preferable. It`s optimal height - when a child`s legs, bended in knees at a
right angle, are set against floor.

Considering a general rule of work at a writing-table - light should illuminate
working area in front or to a child`s left - you should arrange a writing-table
either with its front ot left side to a window.

If you bought a computer, it`s better to buy a special table for it. It can be
situated along the wall or in a room`s corner. You can choose a one piece corner
table or additional side one.

Children furniture should be of pale shades, blue, light-green, beige - these colors have a calming effect on a child`s psyche, increase natural
illumination of a room. Single bright spots will bring reviving.
From time to time it`s recommended to change color composition of a child`s room,
and it would be good to accustom a child himself to it - this arouses creative
labour and responsibility in him. Moreover, a child should like his room, why
not to fulfil a number of his wishes and ideas? For example, you can create something
with children.

It`s much more pleasant to do home tasks at a beautiful and comfortable writing-table
for a schoolchild. Using decorative self-adhesive films, you can make a motley rug-mount for a writing-table in one moment, and also
practical and interesting table set for school-writing materials. You also can
show your individuality and artistic flair while designing paper-cases. Moreover,
it`s quite easy to cover wood, cardboard or plastic with one-colored film. Then
you can decorate them with merry drawings.
For this you can use a pattern or just cut them out of a film with images of
different figures, made with great variety. You`ll see your children`s enthusiasm
and delight, when they start inventing and making miracles while designing.

How to work with film

Instrument and equipment

Scissors, sharp knife, pencil, ruler or rubber palette-knife, probably, you`ll
need a hair-drier.

Consecution of operations

1. Taking measurements

Centimeter square on a back side of a paper mat is of great help in this work.

2. Incision
Over-measures are provided in case of necessity.

3. Glueing
Disjoint several centimeters of a paper mat from a film. Put a film on an edge
of a covered object and disjoint paper little by little, at the same time smoothing
out a film with a tissue or rubber palette-knife evenly from center to edges.

How to form a right angle

You need to cut off film at an angle of 45 degrees. Over-measure for edges should
be about 3-4 cm.

What to do with air bubbles

Pierce an opening on a place of an air bubble with a needle and release air from
edges to a place of perforation.

Mounting edge-to-edge without gap

Film ducks are pasted easily edge-to-edge without gaps, if while pasting one
film is glued with a slight lap joint (3 cm) on other one, then both films are
cut through with a knife in the center of a lap joint, then excesses are removed.
If you cover large surfaces, consider small shrinkage.

Orbed edges
To cover such surface, you can heat film with a hair-drier. You need to pull
film to an edge and press with a tissue immediately. Keep film pressed to a covered
object, until it cools down till normal temperature.

Straight edges
You will receive a straight edge, if you paste film with a slight over-measure
of about 5 mm. After sticking excesses are cut off along the edge with a sharp
knife.

In conclusion we would like to add that surfaces covered with film are easy to
clean and care. Water and cleansers will be enough for it. It will be also easy
to remove stuck film. You will be able to remove it easily using a hair-drier.
Film is heated with a hair-drier previously and then removed. Excesses of glue
are washed off the surface with a usual window cleanser.
